Hi there,

I have been using PIC for quite for time now for most of my projects now. Currently, Im being assigned to build PIC simulator/compiler/debugger instead. Frankly speaking, I have no idea how to begin since I have only use MPLAB rather than creating my own software.

Therefore, to start off, is winpicprog a compiler? It only states that is it a PIC programmer. I tried testing it, and dont raelly get how it works.

well.. good luck with the PICs.
No winpicprog is not an assembler/compiler(which generated .hex file) .its a tool used to download(burn) the hex file to the PIC.
