I have tried a couple of attempts at building a dcf 77.5 khz receiver to be part of a frequency reference (I dont want to use gps right now).
However skelton operating on 81kc is close to me and with a tuned receiver I cannot get 77.5kc, even with an upconverter I get lots of distortion from 81kc overloading the front end.
The point of this thread is to find out if the skelton signal can be used as a reference itself, this link implies its high accuracy: http://www.mwlist.org/vlf.php?kHz=81.00
Anthorn timecode transmitter is close to it so maybe they use it as a reference, there is 85hz shift on the 81kc signal I dont know if its correlated over time or not.
Can anyone throw any light on this, or is a submarine transmitter so secret noone knows anything about it.
