Slotted pot ?

I am looking for a mini 1k pot that as you turn it has little detents or knotches, is that what a "slotted " pot is ?

Wouldn't you put the detents on the wheel/lever that drives the pot?

I have pots with detents in my Onkyo amplifier. I don't know what this is called, but probably not "slotted". Anyway, the manufacturer puts the detent thing on, not the person that buys the pots.

Next step, finding anybody who knows what these are called so OP can look 'em up at parts sellers web sites.

I just wrote 'detent potentiometer' into Digikey search and came up with something. They're all 10k, but it's a beginning.
