Most are really gas & various chemical sensors & detectors.
There are alot of these so yes, there are many designs available.

No schematics, but I can tell you that you need a constant, reliable supply on the input, and by all means keep the output pulled down to ground.

And below ground if you are a real PRO, to avoid possible signal deterioration so that you can use it for an extra long time.
 
But, is it true that such "Smell sensor" will have high maintenance? It is kinda hard to maintain, right? As there will be two outputs. One the front, have to feed them. One at back, have to pick up the waste as well

hello all ,

my friend asked u all abt the smell sensor but we didnt got any of the +ve replies ......we have searched on the net regardin it but we got the design as the some polymer film will be there and there will be some change in the polymer properties so the exact odor will be detected .....so if any of the guys knows abt the polymer which is to be used in this case then it would be of our help ...........
