We'd all be better off if EV's had rooftop solar panels, if the automakers used a high-output decades-old recharging triangle, and batteries had longer lifespan to diminish range anxiety. The extra electricity leads to increasing demand for cabling to transport the additional energy, and for recharge stations to be built and maintained. I saw the documentary, "Who killed the electric car?", about the GM ZEV-1 California concept car that was recalled and crushed - a futuristic idea gone to waste.
