Well that's a pretty useless question - you don't mention what the 'problem' is, or what model the TV is.

However, as an ex-TV engineer I can state with some confidence, that's its almost certainly a faulty LCD screen. I was a Sony service engineer, and their sets are EXTREMELY reliable, and 95+% of the faults you did get were screen failures.
