Splitting a power supply.

Hi
My amp uses a centre tap supply but the speaker protection circuit uses a two pin ac connection.
Can I take a 12 -0 from one side of the transformer to do this.
Alternatively could I use another 12v transformer for a rectified circuit (for small bluetooth module) and tap of this before the rectifier.
Thanks

Sorry for late reply yes.
I think i wii fit another small transformer with dual 12v secondarys use one for 12v ac and other rectify to dc

Hi,

Isolated AC sources are best when you are not sure what to do because of the way it is wired that you don't know about perfectly yet. Using the same AC source for more than one purpose can be tricky when it is full wave rectified for use for a power source. Sometimes you can get away with using capacitive coupling if the current is low, but that's tricky too.

We could look at some examples to see how this works.
