Does anyone know where there is a simple circuit diagram for a stepper motor driver (for a 5-pinned motor) so that it will just turn the motor around like a d.c motor. I would prefer a simple diagram with no computer operated microcontrolers and things like that because I don't have a clue how they work.
Thanks

David, Stepper motors are not like ordinary DC motors, so there is nothing simple to connect it to, to make it run like one.
You have to pulse the windings in sequence to make it turn. The faster you pulse them the faster it turns (within limits).
For that you need some complicated circuitry, either a sequential timing chip and a bunch of transistor drivers for simple speed or a microprocessor controller for ramp on/ off speed and all possible stepping combinations.
