Stereo input on mono TV

If the TV is mono only, any stereo audio input should be mixed together and reproduced in the TV speaker
 
Yes, it will work perfectly, the stereo inputs from the SCART are simply joined together in a mono set.
 
You need something like this;

No you don't, all that's needed is the pins simply wiring together - in fact assuming it's a European set with SCART you don't even need to do that, it's already done inside the mono TV set.
 
Nigel; The OP never said anything about SCART.

He doesn't have his location filled in either

But it makes no difference, phono (RCA) sockets are wired just the same - you don't require anything other than a piece of wire to make them mono.
 
I think it depends on what the OP wants to feed the mono TV with.
I some cases like a cell phone its bad to short the left and right audio channels together.
So to error on the side of caution, I suggested a resister based mixer circuit.
We will not realy know what the OP needs unless we get more info.
