Hi, Is there any sensors which can be used to detect a swallow that fly into the range of the sensor? Thank You

I heard that Analogue Devices have just released a device to detect birds within a 10 Meter radius, and it’s got 0.02% Error rate

There’s a selection of birds that can be programmed on the "Hit List" and the sensor will detect the internal harmonics of the bird to define what species it originates from. The accuracy extends further than just specie specific, too age and gender de-modulation as well!

Well jokes aside, why not use an array of LDR's to detect light variations caused by movement? Or just grab a simple movement detector?

Or are there other animals/activity in the area that would make the above idea useless?

What about a PIR?

The sort use in burglular alarms and lights that detect when someone is near.

Try the SRF04 and a PIC. Depending on what you want to do, there could be an alarm, or a display map of the reflected echoes.
