Hello all.
I am in need of a CMOS 4006.
not spending money is what i prefer. so my question is. where could i scrap one off of? what would they be used for?

- you can always find places to buy things. what people need is a quick reference to where things could be scrapped from.

Current consumer electronics are using chips with ever increasing levels of integration. You may have to look long and hard to find logic chips like the 4006. Maybe look at devices from the 80s and 90s.

You haven't stated where in the world you are but $0.75 vs stripping down loads of junk in the hope of finding a single 4006 seems a no brainer for me.

Mind you, stripping down loads of junk can be good fun

But when you find that the reason it is junk is because the 4006 is faulty....

Maybe it is just me but I would rather build with parts I can trust.
