Can somebody tell me PT100 what type of a thermocouple?

There are so many kinds of Thermocouples in the market ex: K,E,J etc...........

Whats the advantage of PT100 than other types?

Thanks.

A PT100 by definition of a thermocouple is not a thermocouple.

Lets for now just say temperature sensor. You choose a temperature sensor based on many factors such as starting with range of temperature to be measured. Then we consider constraints of space etc. Additionally the environment the sensor is to be used in. The list goes on and on in making a decision as to the type temperature sensor to be used. Anyway what you are calling a PT100 is not a thermocouple.

A PT100 is a form of resistance thermometer sensor.

hi Suraj,
A PT100 is not a thermo couple, its a 100R Platinum resistor sensor. .

Your turn today.....
I shouldn't have had that second sip of tea!
