Why do you like extremely muffled sounds? Is it because you are deaf to normal high audio frequencies up to 20kHz?
The letter "S" in speech and many other consonants have frequencies up to 14kHz that normal people can hear.
CDs have frequencies up to 20khz so that music sounds normal.
FM radio and TV have frequencies up to 15kHz and sound pretty good.
AM radio for deaf oldies has frequencies up to 3.5KHz like local telephones.
Long distance telephones and some cell phones have frequencies up to only 2kHz so all the important consonants in speech are not produced.
And your bandwidth is 10 times less.
