Transformer Connection

I was looking at a site where they have two single phase transformers of the same type connected as in the picture attached.

Is this safe practice to connect these as shown.

Continuing, if the two primaries are 120v each, in parallel you have a 120v primary circuit. If you wire them in series, you have a 240v primary circuit. In either case, be sure to watch the phasing of the primary and secondary circuits so that you output is additive or you'll end up with near-zero volts!
 
True, but in this case it's not dangerous. If you put it together and find that the voltage across each transformer is about 30 V, but across the pair is nearly nothing, just reverse the primary or secondary of either transformer.
