hello
i need a power supply
Requirements:
Input: 240V AC 50Hz
Output: 0-110VDC (0-90V sufficient) @ 10A
digital voltmeter
must be accurate to at least 1V

i got quoted 6000 rand (south african currency) for a 0-90V variac
i think that's a bit much

what are the options i have for the power supply?
please note DC output

thats about £500 i think.

For a 0 to 100 volt variable power supply at 10 Amps,
with a digital voltmeter.

well thats not bad for closely regulated, 1 or 2 per cent.

If you dont need it regulated, then i think you were told correctly,
consider a variac followed by a smoothing circuit.
Dont forget, a variac does not isolate.

John :)
