hello, I am trying to control brightness of the lamp using moc3023 ,triac BTA16 but my bulb is flicker after some time approx 1 min.why this happens?

If you post your schematic you might do better, as it is you're telling us nothing - not even what type the bulb is?.

Possibly look at using a snubber device if your lamp has a low current consumption.

Many modern light bulbs are not supposed to use a triac dimmer. A triac dimmer was used years ago with incandescent light bulbs.

If the gate voltage of the triac is less as required as per the spec this can happen. Provide a 4.7 mfd cap from the gate of triac to gnd the voltage rating of the cap should be 3 times more than the voltage present on the gate of the triac.

Possibly not enough trigger current, or unsymetrical triggering.
As mentioned schem please.
