In old analog scopes, we have VARIABLE and CAL functions in both volt/div knots. What do they mean. How to "set the Variable Control to the CAL position"?
In the cal position the markings are calibrated to the values displayed on the knob. In the variable position you have fine control but the calibration is not accurate. The is usually a slight click as the control moves into the cal position ( it is offen an inner knob on the main control ).
