I am currently trying to build a voice changer which will increase the pitch of an audio/voice signal, have run into a number of dead ends and over-complicated designs..I want to stay analogue and small. Would appreciate any help / :) schematics of previous designs for refrence?? thanks

You're looking at a complicated subject! - it's not a trivial task!.

For an analogue solution I would suggest generating a single sideband RF signal, then demodulating it back to audio with a BFO. By altering the BFO frequency you can alter the pitch of the voice - while keeping it's timing the same.

maybe go to a store and buy a cheap one, they cant be too expensive. Then maybe you can hack it to suit your purpose.

But he did say 'small' (and a PC wouldn't be small), and he also said 'analogue'. Which rather rules out a soundblaster card and PC.

Application of helium gas will increase the pitch of a voice.
I think there are audio chips available to lower the pitch,
used by makers of diving equipment to correct the helium effect.

It might be worth checking them out.

John :)
