Voice Coil actuator

Hello Forum ,
I have hard disk and i removed from it the actuator ( HDD arm) , could you please kindly explain for me how i can connect it to the sound card to move the arm (up and down)?

You will need a Power amplifer, something like an audio amplifier capable of driving a 4Ω speaker to ~10W. You can build one using a "servo amplifer power OpAmp"

Thank you Mike , do you recommand a LM386 ? and please what the wave can be generated from sound card , square ?

Without knowing the specifications of the coil, an LM386 would be about the minimum you need. You need to drive it with sine wave of around 45Hz. Start will low amplitude and build up until it moves.
