I assume that others do the same as me. I keep a list of parts that I'm running low on (but have no immediate need for) so that I can pad my next parts order and make the shipping costs worthwhile.
I need to order some parts this week, and looking at my list of non-critical order items, there's almost nothing on it. So, I'm looking for inspiration. What should I add to my order to make it worthwhile? (FYI, it will probably be from either Digikey or Mouser).
Hmm, these are on required for project in development list, tho whenever I can, I acquire the basics first 1k, 4.7k, 6.8k, 10k, 15k, 18k, 20k, 22k, 27k, 33k, 34k, 38k, 47k, 56k, so on, then start to eventually add in odd ball variants where I can find them and when needed that are most encountered by what's being built most or likely. 31.2k high side as example combined with an 10K low side to produce 1.235V ref for 5V out from an Linear N-FET regulator IC.

I stocked up on resistors and capacitors on my last couple of orders, but I guess I'll have to check my inventory and see if there are any gaps in the values. I could probably use some more high value film caps (higher than 1 µF). They seem to be coming in handy these days.
In the end, I didn't have any trouble fattening up the order to qualify for free shipping. In fact, it ended up being nearly double what I needed.
I ordered a bunch of plastic project boxes, pushbuttons and panel mount LEDs; things that I'm always running out of. Also added some zero ohm resistors/jumpers as suggested by GromTag (much more professional looking than bare wire jumpers).
Would have ordered 10k resistors and 0.1 µF caps, but I do that on nearly every order, and I now have several lifetime supplies of each.
I believe Mouser has a 15 minute delay between when the order is received and it's pulled because so many people want to add items the minute an order is sent.
Impressive specs, but I don't need anything that can handle 30A at the moment. Might be of interest to DerStrom8 though, considering what else is on his list.
