This is my lab doorstop.

Any ideas what it is and off?

Theres 4 copper strip terminals I put 12vdc across 2 of them and it pulled my supply down to 0.3v so I'm thinking very old selenium rectifier, maybe a valve transmitter?

It makes a decent doorstop.
Theres 2 10mm cap heads holding what appears to be the diodes on, they are tight if I try to wrive them no doubt the ceramic insulators will drop to bits.

My meter doesnt read any forward voltage drop.
The 0.3v drop I got earlier was because I was connecting across the common bus between them.
The devices themselves with 30v across them from my supply do not pull any current, I'll test them with my component tester when I get home.
All making me think they are h.t.(diode stacks with several volts vf), there was a short bit of wire on them, it was only 16/0.2 so could only carry a few A, the insulation didnt look anything special though.
