At a meeting of our local makers group, a guy brought in a box of junk he had gotten from a friend to give away.
One of the interesting items was a couple solenoids from a fire sprinkler control system. These things have 2 separate plungers that pull toward the center when energized. In my haste to test these at 11 pm after we got home, things didn't go quite as I had planned. Below is my sad story posted to the group's discord.
