recently ive found myself destroying zener diodes and resistors of odd values, just for their soldering leads, at the time normal threaded wire was not suitable, and not as easy to solder, especially for jumping across the pcb with.
does anyone know where i can buy such wire as is used in soldering leads?
thanks.
IIRC they sell it at radio shack called "hook up wire". I know for sure they have it in red, black, and green insulated, but I believe they also sell it in bare copper.
Belden 8022 Busbar wire is tinned copper solid wire.
Over the years I've used miles of it Mouser has it, I'd bet the others have it too. I'd also bet that Belden has many other gauges too.
Last I remember it's about $15/c but that was a while ago and I'm sure it didn't get cheaper.
I use wire-wrap wire 30 gauge for making jumps and repairs on PCBs. Most electronic supply houses such as Circuit Specialists, JAMECO, Mouser, Digi-Key, etc. carry this
thanks for your help, i found the wire i was after, ill keep bus bar wire in mind next time i need some. i found a chinese seller who seemed to be selling leads cut from components. it was only a dollar for 200 peices 80mm long, so im happy with that. thanks.
