2.V battery discharge indicator

i need a circuit that can monitor the level/bars of voltage left in 2 batterys together.. For example,like those indicators in handphones which can show the amount of power left in the battery.. when 1 bar is left,you need to charge.. when the bars are full,it means the battery is fully charge... Is there such a circuit available online?? pls help... Urgent...

EACH battery is

Sanyo Harmolattice low discharge cell..
Size AA R6..
Model HR-3UQ 1.2V
Typ.1,000mAh
Min 950mAh..

I wish to represent the bars/level of voltage using LEDs... Those circuits i found online are 12V or more.. But i don't need so much...
