I wanted to build a 555 alarm that would rise in tone then drop back down for a cool effect. The rising tone would last about a second, then drop down to a low tone and build back up. It would give a sweet 555 effect. I am not quite sure how I would approach this, but I was thinking of using monostable 555's to set the second rising limit and a astable 555 for the frequency or tone. It would increase based on the monostable. Any tips?

hi,
Look here, a feast of 555's, enjoy..

I have found that if you want a rising and falling tone from a 555 you can use the charge and discharge voltage from the capacitor that is connected on pins 2 & 6. I have found it is best to us a voltage follower with an op amp to drive the tone circuit, so the charge and discharge of the capacitor is not affected by the other circuit.

Something like this should work:

Or just google for Lm555 siren.
