i got all the components required to build the circuit.
my problem is iam unable to create the PCB with the given details.the author already posted the layout and a file with extension .LYT
**broken link removed**
.i don't know what software to use to open it.the layout doesn't seems to be proper scale,to use as it is(when i pasted it in to MS word it looks quite big).
i use toner transfer method for the PCB's.
can u guys help me with this PCB problem.

You did not say where you were from which makes finding parts for you difficult.
The octapart search engine has several sources for the part
National Semiconductor - LM2917N-8/NOPB
IC CONVERTER FREQ TO VOLT 8-DIP Voltage / Frequency (V/F & Sierra IC LM2917N8NOPB 1:$3.06 avail:1348
Digi-Key LM2917N-8-ND 1:$2.11 avail:997
Newark 41K4468 1:$2.11 avail:855
Allied 288-0432 1:$1.75 avail:90
Jameco 23351 1:$1.99 avail:0
Online Comp LM2917N-8/NOPB 1:$1.53 avail:0

Scale the artwork to get it to the correct size.
You may be able to scale from you printer setup/preferances.
You can do it in most photo editing or paint programs.

yes i tried IRFANVIEW to scale the image.and i can able to get the correct scale (i guess).
any idea, how to open this .LYT file?imean i need it to see which components comes where(some rough silk screen).or else it wil take lot of time during population to trace each components location.

I hope this will help you

any idea abt the software that can open LYT file.
@jumides
thanks once again.
