7.5v regulator.

Hey ILE, I think you can use a 2.5V zener diode from the regulator 7805 center pin to ground and you can get the desired 7.5V output. You change the zener value and you can change the output voltage adding the zener voltage +5V. This circuit I think is in your words not chunky.

That is difficult to impossible to find. An LM317, an LM431, a couple resisters and a couple capacitors makes a protected, fairly accurate power supply.

Yeah, our OP thought it was too "chunky". I think he needs to lower his expectations.
