amplify a signal coming out of this module

You could use the 5V signal to drive the gate of a logic-level FET of a suitable rating.
 
if you use a MOSFET the current coming out from your module is null since the mosfet gate impedance is very high. If you use a BJT transistor such as a 2n2222 you can limit the current going out from the module for example to 5mA by placing a 1Kohm resistor like in this picture:

Vbb is the signal coming out from the module L and D can be your load to drive.

As an alternative you can use a driver like the ULN2003 or a L293D..
