Both you and Nigel are correct in specific ways... 10MHz scope is very useful for most troubleshooting .... and the lower line brands like B&K do not employ the quality crt's as Tek, HP and similar lab grade brands do, hence the reason to crank up brightness, etc.Yes it is. Trying to look at a not-very-exotic .25µS pulse coming out of a microcontroller on a 10mhz scope, you have to expand the range, crank the brightness, turn off the room lights, squint...
Screw it. Get a better scope.
