Basic DC Motor Controller

I need to build a speed controller for my DC lathe motor.
Dayton ½ HP Permanent Magnet 90v DC variable speed, reversible Motor
I have a 10 amp GE Variac, and want to use a full wave bridge rectifier.
What should the rating (size of the rectifier be?)

I Would Recommend a 10 Amp, 200 Volt Bridge.
200 Volts is definately OK But even a Higher current one Might be better.
Don't forget a GOOD Heat Sink on it.
