What would you say would be the best simulator for electrical engineering students. I am currently using MultiSim. [Note: the simulator must be able to acutally run schematics and not only able to construct the circuit].
For electronic circuit simulation MultiSim is good. PSpice is another standard and is also good if you can afford it. LTSpice is probably the best free circuit simulator available.
Here's another free one: Qucs project: Quite Universal Circuit Simulator
It's a work in progress, but it seems to be quite powerful, and it runs on several different platforms.
The biggest problem at the moment is lack of good documentation.
