Hello,

I made a CDI (pic16f84)

http://www.sportdevices.co.uk/ignition/ignition.htm#CDI

I made it and now i´m thinking that it needs a 200-300vac for charging a capacitor.
I´m interested that what is the vac mean, will it means a alternator current or something else. ?
This CDI will using for Polaris Sportsman 600, i´t 4-stroke and 2 cylinder.
Can someone know, that can i make the 200-300vac without alternator, or i have to use a alternator?

And all other diagrams and advices are welcome.

Thanks from Estonia.!
