I'm using a 3 digit lcd counter kit to measure small amounts of water with a water meter that provides switch reed closures. The water meter produces a close every 1/2 liter so the display is double the amount in litres.

Can someone please advise me how to modify this circuit to either divide the input counts by 2 (to display in litres) or multiply them by five (to display in .5 litre increments)?

Thanks.

Hi Greg,

Multiplying by five is easier said than done but dividing by
two is easy.
You need to insert a flip-flop between the output of IC1d
and the clock input of the counter (IC2).
You can use one half of a CD4027 or a CD4013, both are
dual flip-flops.
