DC fan connection assistance needed please!

I have a 24vdc 60ma fan I need to power from a 30Vdc .83a power supply.
Thanks for any help :)
 
Simple ohms law says a 100 ohm resistor in series is all you need, and it will dissipate 0.36W - so I would suggest a 1W resistor. But this depends on the figures being accurate - but in any case it should be near enough, it's only a fan!.
 
Have you checked the datasheet?

Often 24V fans are designed to work from a vehicle's electrical system with can be as high as 30V with the engine running at full wack.
