Digital oscilloscope trace appears dim

Hello. I use an GW Instek GDS1102B oscilloscope to test my circuits. The measured waveform looks dim (DSO001.png) if I select sample mode from the aquire menu, but when I select average mode (2) from the same menu then the measured waveform (DSO002.png) looks like higher intensity.
If I select a smaller record length, for example 1000 points then the waveform looks more dim (DSO003.png).

It is possible to make the waveform to look more intense when using sample mode ?
