Electric Car Project... please help!!

Hey everyone. If anybody can help me out here it would be greatly appreciated! I am building an electric car and i need some help with designing the switch. I was thinking of using a nail and paper clip. Attatch the negative to the nail, and positive to the paper clip, and when they touch they will complete a circuit ... I just want to add a button or a lever switch or something. Arg, very fustrated! If anyone can help me it would be a huge help!!Our Goal is to not have anything bought from the store. So if you know of any objects that we may have at home and can use please let me know.

Umm, how about an actual on/off switch? Very cheap, can be ordered off any electronics website, or any electronics store. In fact, you could probably salvage one off of something.

Take an old flashlight apart. You will find that the switch is a piece of springy metal.
