found MPASM. Doesn't seem to support the 16F628, as not listed in the readme file.

Nigel Goodwin said:As you have one machine which runs it OK, try copying the directory which holds MPASM other to the Win95 machine - it includes both DOS and Windows versions of MPASM, and (hopefully) won't require any DLL's installed elsewhere - worth a try anyway, although you could always use the DOS version.

Never used MPASM before, is its main function to assemble .asm's, into .hex's, so another programming software can open it, to, burn the chip. I'm assuming this is the main function.
