Has anyone tried the DAC on a pic16f18855

I used byte on the nano I uint8_t on the pic

When you used byte it was impossible to get lower than 128 which is why you had to change it. Had you used unsigned byte it would have worked fine.

I'm using uint8_t on the pic16f18855 I had to change count to 127

You should be able to use var <128 or var <=127 as they are the same.
