I received the Moderna vaccine as soon as I was eligible. First shot caused a mildly sore arm, but that went away fairly promptly. Second shot just made me a little tired and lethargic, but I was still conscious and functional. No fever, no chills, no temperature changes. I was grateful for that. Worst thing that happened to me was a minor migraine that lasted for 5 days after my second dose, but again, that was bearable. I was still able to go to work and carry on with my life as usual. Far better option to me than getting the full-blown virus and being knocked out for two weeks. I am aware that the vaccine does not make you immune. It does, however, vastly increase the chance that you'll beat it more quickly, reducing the amount of time you have symptoms, and thus reducing the chances of passing it along to someone else. I am not worried about getting COVID. I am healthy enough I do not expect it will cause any severe problems for me. I am, however, worried about passing it along to someone else who isn't as healthy as I am and is less likely to make it through. That is also why I wear a mask. I don't wear it for my own safety, I wear it for the sake of others around me.
