Help sourcing Diode

Looking for help sourcing part number or info on this Diode it is shorted with continuity both directions. Only markings I see is
S6

That is absolutely allowed.

That looks like a transient suppressor diode. Their failure mode when they have suppressed a number of transients that were too large is to fail short-circuit.

You need to disconnect one end (or both) to know if the short circuit is that component.

It's a Vishay semiconductor SS26 schottky diode, from what I can find.

That is General Semiconductor's logo (now owned by vishay).
