I read that Lionel had used them, but I didn't know it was a gizmo the clipped on to the track. Very cool.

I wonder if they licenced them?, or just stole them?.

I actually checked the name earlier, it's German - and means 'flag pole' - Mr. Schade who invented them was an employee.
