Hey I've always had trable with this for IC's, what to heck do I connect the GND pin to, I know GND means ground but what would you consider. every book I've read says connect it to something that's been grounded, but how do I know if it is?
Yes, GND just means circuit or power supply common. It does not need to be connected to earth "ground" although in some cases it may be for safety considerations.
