Interfacing a PIC with a motor

Hi,

I'm planning to modify an RC car so that it is autonomously controlled by a PIC. The only good tutorial I have found so far is here. It's for a servo motor but I think it will work for me. In order for it to be able to go forward and reverse it needs four pins from the micro controller. What I'd like to know is if there is a way that can use just two pins and still get the same motion?

Yes, you can do it with just 2 pins. You need to Google 'H bridge'.

The example uses relays to control the motor, is it possible to replace these with transistors or would that cause interference or something?

You can make an h bridge with transistors, but you'd be better off finding a schematic of one rather than adapting the circuit you just posted.

Thats good new I had already ordered transistor to try make the first type of motor controller I'll post it here when I get a good one
