LCD won't play right

What I see so far is that MrDEB has:

• Found that Swordfish BASIC is the only compiler he can write code with
• Tried several LCD modules and found a bad module
• Speculated that the wiring of his hardware may have "issues"
• Changed to a different hardware target
• Change to other firmware
• Found that characters now are displayed on the LCD module

Seems that MrDEB has what he needs so perhaps this thread is done.
I had hopes it would go the distance.

No intent to provoke MrDEB and apologize if I have.

My only purpose is to offer what help I can.

I can see that you are trying to help on his other thread; "WOW!! been awhile but $$$"
So he may look at the PIC18F45K22. Hope Swordfish BASIC supports it.

Quite well actually.

There is also a recent update available on the Swordfish Basic website for new 18F variants.

I discovered that I still have issues so this thread may go farther.
Will experiment today to find out why's and what's.
I printed out a working code as well as one that won't display on the LCD.
I also discovered that my working code has a syntax but will compile anyway.
Most of the issues here is due to the internal osc which will be addressed when the crystals get here.
