matte vs glossy screen, is there a difference?

Hello.

I’m looking to upgrade my laptop to an OLED display and I’ve seen some ads specifically mention the matte look.

Is there two types of coating on these screens and does it affect performance?

Glossy is better in some ways like media/gaming content but for everyday & versatile conditions I prefer matte.

If you frequently work in brightly lit environments or outdoors, a matte screen might be the better option to reduce glare and reflections.

Matte reduces reflections better, glossy gives a slightly sharper image.
Take you pick.
