Misbehaving key!

Hello,

I have been facing this problem recently on my HP laptop running Windows 10.

The key 'and " (and only ' and " ) will not input anything until another key is pressed. It can be the same key or any other including space bar.

That is, the above 2 inputs will show on screen only when another key is inputted. So, if I have to type either of these 2 characters, I have to press another key and then do a back space to remove the additional input.

This happens only with the installed Windows 10 (22H2), not with Linux or Windows 11. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers but there is no change.

Does anyone have a clue as to what is happening?

In Settings add another language, English(US) or English(UK), you may find that the keys are ok in one of the languages.

This problem has been reported many times with previous versions of Windows - and the fix has always been to change the keyboard from US (International) to US (Standard).

Brief description of the problem for those not familiar:

Pressing a quote - or double quote - does not appear to do anything. pressing it a second time results in two of the characters appearing on the screen.

It is caused by having an international keyboard installed - where some keys can produce extra characters (depending on what you press next).

No, they are referring to the key with the single and double quote - read the link above (post#5). It's a known issue for the "MS International English
Keyboard" - keep up.
