moon eclipse

I watched it between 2200 and 2310 hrs ( 28th August ) in between scattered clouds over the Auckland skies.
Quiet an amazing colour. Copper colour for most of the time. After 2300 hrs the diamond effect was clearly visible, when the moon started to get it's normal brighntness back.

The moon had a very 3 D look, almost so that you could pluck it out of the sky, like a ball.

I took these pics with my videocamera, the colour doesn't show too well.

It was still amazing to watch.

Wow, was it in red? I can see there is a little red at the top edge of the moon in your attachment. Hopefully I get to see it next year.
 
I think the next eclipse is due on the 7 th February 2008 for New Zealand,
Other parts of the world may be one or two days different.
