Could anyone mind to explain what is "ringing effect" that happens during MOSFET switching? Why and how does it happen? And lastly is what can be done to minimize the effect?

Thanks a lot.

Ringing is the result of an underdamped 2nd order response to a step function. What does that mean? The switching of the MOSFET creates a step function to a load which has an R and an L and a C. It is these parameters of the load circuit which determine the step response.

What load is it driving?

Try adding a low value resistor (10hm: to 100hm or ferrite bead to the gate.
