hi, i need assistance in designing a mosfet switch.

the input is from a microcontroller (gate voltage ~5V) . the circuit needs to power a 12W 12V bulb. the mosfet should provide a maximum of 1A.

any ideas on wat mosfet will be most appropriate?
any assistance will be appreciated

Don't you mean the MOSFET should be able to provide a minimum of 1A?

Just use an IRL540.

Thanks

Thanks for the assistance. i'm just having a problem obtaining the IRL540. any other alternatives?
