Multi Tap Resistor

Don't quite know why ive kept this for probably 40 yrs now. So is any one old enough to know what it came out of?

Looks like a dropper resistor from an old valve TV. (Non isolated from the mains.) The chassis was always at half mains potential.

Quite right, they were sold here in Australia as the brand name Thorn imported from the UK. Found a couple of these resistors cleaning out old gear.
